| Young Adult Program |
The staff at the PaRC is aware of the increase in young adults abusing and becoming dependent on alcohol and drugs. In response to the growing problem of 18- to 24-year olds continuing to abuse alcohol and drugs, the Memorial Hermann Prevention and Recovery Center began a Young Adult Program.
Because most young adults began using chemicals as young teens, their psychological emotional and behavioral and cognitive abilities have been affected. Our Young Adult Chemical Dependency Program addresses the special needs of this population. Our experienced and dedicated staff includes a medical director, coordinator and Iicensed chemical dependency counselors.
The program includes:
- Life Skills Classes
- Age-Oriented Process Groups
- Intensive Family Treatment
- Relationship Groups
- Community-Oriented Functions
- Specialized Therapy Groups
- Spirituality Groups
- Relapse Prevention
- Reintegration Group
- Specialized Aftercare Groups
The PaRC understands that families need encouragement and support to begin their recovery process from the destruction of chemical dependency. Families are integral part of our Young Adult Program. From the screening process through discharge planning, parents and family members are actively involved. Family programming includes family counseling sessions, multi-family education and process groups and family aftercare.
